This map of the early nineteenth-century border between the US and Mexico was featured in the February 2018 issue of Harper’s, accompanying an article called “Lines and Lineage,” by Tomas van Houtryve, with beautiful photographs imagining what the highlighted places might have looked like during the Mexican era.
